Just finished cutting out all the sub roadbed.
I also reversed the industry on the right side of the layout so it would be raised
The grades aren't right but hopefully it will look something like this
Now I have to fix up alot of the benchwork underneath the layout and get the grades right by adding some risers.

Track Plan Printing
Just found a really good site that breaks up big images into A4 sheets so you can print them out on normal printers. It was exactly what I was looking for to print of my track plan. It will help my transfer it to the layout.

Here is a picture of what you end up with before trimming it down and sticking it together

Track Planning
Here is my first attempt at making a track plan
I made it in Xtrkcad.
The Plan is a very rough modification of a plan I found on the Trainboard website.
pachyderm217 is the Trainboard user who's plan I have tried to replicate. His excellent layout can be viewed here along with some great tutorials
http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/showgallery.php/ppuser/9293/cat/500
The plan has everything I wanted. One thing I really wanted to model was an abandon track. I got the idea from the whiteriverandnorthern.net website made by David K Smith. He really has some great plans and ideas. Here is the abandon track he made which gave me the idea.
I also really like the look of Dave Vollmer's N Scale Juniata Division layout.
Hopefully I can get my layout to look as good as his does. You can check it out here
My next step is to post it in the forums and have people alot more knowledgeable than me take a look at it and pick out the mistakes.
